Teledyne FLIR E52 Thermal Imaging Camera
The Teledyne FLIR E52 Thermal Imaging Camera is the latest addition to FLIR’s Exx-Series, intended to offer an entry level professional thermal solution at a competitive price. This model possesses a whole host of features, offering some of the key functionality present within the higher-end Exx-Series cameras, making it the ideal tool for basic condition monitoring or mechanical/electrical inspection.
With a 240 x 180 pixel IR resolution and 640 x 480 display, the FLIR E52 can accurately and clearly display temperatures up to 550°C. Innovative features including FLIR’s 1-touch level/span system provide a convenient way to adjust image contrast with just a single touch of the screen, increasing contrast in specific areas to highlight small temperature differences.
FLIR Thermal Studio & FLIR Inspection Route
Using the FLIR Thermal Studio Pro software package, collected material can be analysed and reports created for export or sharing. The built-in FLIR Inspection Route feature is also managed from Thermal Studio Pro, using the Route Creator plugin to create routes with pre-defined assets for inspection around your facility. The E52 can use this functionality to guide you on this route, performing inspections and storing collected material along the way. Finally, stored material can be safely and securely transferred to cloud storage in realtime via FLIR Ignite Cloud, where it can be accessed at any time.
Other useful features found in this model include are a 2.5+ hour battery life during typical operation and a hard plastic shell able to withstand drops from over 6ft. Both of these factors mean the camera is well suited to long days within challenging industrial environments, making it a dependable tool for mechanical or electrical engineers, site maintenance teams and other technical staff.
FLIR MSX
FLIR’s MSX technology adds visible light to thermal images in real time, providing enhanced edges and outlines for additional clarity. This technology operates without diluting or decreasing thermal transparency, capturing visual light and IR simultaneously and combining the images to create an improved result. Handily, it also removes the requirement to take additional visible light reference images for reporting/storage purposes. The onboard MSX functionality means that the E52 can deliver impressive levels of detail and perspective, while also providing an additional layer of convenience.

The Teledyne FLIR E52 Thermal Imaging Camera is a great value proposition for those looking for a well equipped instrument at a low price. By retaining many of the innovative FLIR technologies of more expensive models the E52 can produce high-quality thermal imagery while being both usable and durable.
Below, you will find a comparison table highlighting the key differences between FLIR’s Exx series cameras.
